Moissantie

Moissanite is a popular alternative to traditional diamond engagement rings. It is a lab-created gemstone that has similar properties to a diamond but is more affordable. Meaning you can get a bigger carat size for abetter price!

Yes! Moissanite has a high refractive index and sparkles just as brightly as a diamond. Many people find it to be a worth buying option for an engagement ring due to its affordability and ethical origins.

Moissanite is an ethical and sustainable choice for those looking for a diamond alternative. Being laboratory-grown, it eliminates the need for mining, making it an environmentally friendly option. Moissanite is also known for its exceptional brilliance, fire and luster, making it an excellent choice for a special piece of jewelry.

The 4 Cs are the four characteristics that are used to grade diamonds: carat weight, cut, color, and clarity.

They are used to determine the quality and value of a diamond. Carat weight is the measurement of a diamond’s weight, cut refers to the diamond’s symmetry, polish, and proportion, color refers to the diamond’s hue and saturation, and clarity refers to the presence of inclusions and blemishes. Understanding the 4 Cs is important when buying a diamond, as they will affect its appearance and value.

Moissanite, which is 100% lab-grown and never mined, has a unique rainbow sparkle and scores a 9.25 on the Mohs Scale of hardness. Lab grown diamonds, on the other hand, have the traditional white brilliance of natural diamonds and score a 10 on the Mohs Scale. Additionally, Moissanite has a different chemical makeup, made from silica and carbon, which gives it a unique sparkle and hardness compared to lab grown diamonds which is pure carbon. Ultimately, the choice between moissanite and lab grown diamonds comes down to personal preference and budget.

Moissanite can be cared for in the same way as natural diamonds. They are durable and can withstand everyday wear. To clean your moissanite, simply use mild soap and warm water.

Lab Diamonds

Yes, lab diamonds are real diamonds. They have the same chemical composition and crystal structure as natural diamonds and are visually indistinguishable from them.

Lab-grown diamonds are just as real as diamonds that are mined from the earth. Made in a controlled laboratory environment, from a diamond seed. They possess identical chemical, physical, and optical characteristics to natural diamonds, including the same fire, scintillation, and sparkle. Lab-grown diamonds are indistinguishable from diamonds that are mined from the earth.

Lab diamonds are ethical because they do not contribute to issues such as forced labor, human rights violations, and environmental damage that can be associated with the diamond mining industry. Additionally, lab diamonds are often certified as conflict-free.

Lab diamonds can be cared for in the same way as natural diamonds. They are durable and can withstand everyday wear, but it is still important to protect them from scratches and damage. To clean your lab diamond, simply use mild soap and warm water, or take it to a professional jeweler for cleaning.

Lab grown diamonds are virtually identical to natural diamonds in terms of their physical, chemical, and optical properties. They have the same crystal structure, chemical composition, and hardness as natural diamonds, and they are visually indistinguishable from them. The only difference is their origin. However, lab grown diamonds are often less expensive than natural diamonds, and they are also considered to be more ethical and environmentally friendly, as they do not require mining, which can be harmful to the environment and can have negative social impacts. In terms of quality, lab grown diamonds can be found in the same range of color, clarity, cut, and carat weight as natural diamonds, so consumers have a wide range of choices.

No, they will not become cloudy or damaged over time, they are just as durable and scratch-resistant as natural diamonds. They can last for generations!

There are two main methods used to produce lab grown diamonds: High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD).

In the HPHT method, a small diamond seed is placed in a press and subjected to extremely high pressure and temperature, which replicates the natural conditions under which diamonds are formed deep within the earth. The carbon in the press melts and then solidifies around the diamond seed, layer by layer, until a rough diamond is created.

In the CVD method, a gas mixture is introduced into a vacuum chamber and heated until it breaks down into its individual carbon atoms. The carbon atoms then settle onto a substrate, such as a flat diamond wafer, and form a diamond crystal layer by layer.

Both methods can take several weeks to create a rough diamond, which is then cut and polished in the same way as a natural diamond to create a finished gemstone. The resulting lab grown diamonds are optically, chemically, and physically identical to natural diamonds, but they are created in a controlled laboratory environment rather than being mined from the earth.
